Just when I was all set to trade my 02 in to get that 5 extra HP.. Nissan takes it away from me... ;) :p :) Oh well.. guess I'll just live with the 240HP and be happy.. :)

Does it really matter? All that counts is what it dynoes with at the rear wheels. It doesn't matter is Nissan says it has 205 hp (which it does approx. at the wheels) or 250, it won't go any faster/slower just because it says so on the website!

Cheers,

Does it matter? No. Either way, there will be no appreciable difference in performance between model years.

Is it interesting to watch the Marketing Machine at work? Very!

We have 2003 3.5's on our car lot, It says right on the maroni
"If thats how you spell maroni" 240HP!
So what the f..k! who knows?
This is getting ridiculous...
Nissans marketing dept. is beginning to look like a Mom and Pops operation.

last year: 180 vs. 175HP (4 cyl)
this year: 245 vs. 240 (V6)

Who cares if it's 240 or 245HP, I'm talking about Nissans "image".
They look like a bunch of amateur and other mfg. are loving it.
Remember what Honda (don't flame me guys :D ) said about Nissans HP rating?

OK! I Have the 2003 Altima Product Guide direct from our sales
dept. It say's Revised engine output (3.5 liter) The 3.5-liter V6
engine is now rated at 245 horsepower; torque rating remains
unchanged.
Sales tells me the one we have the Maroni is wrong, its labled
with the old one. We've seen this before on newly released cars.
