05 SE Altima Grinding Noise at 1500 RPM

I’ve noticed my car is making a scraping or metal on metal grinding noise whenever I get up to 1500 or 1.5 RPM. I’ve done some research and asked my father I’m getting all kinds of answers but I want to narrow it down.
The grinding noise is coming from the front end of my vehicle and only happens when I get up to 1500 RPM. It doesn’t making any noise above or below.
My father says it’s the timing chain rubbing against the cover, and forums say it’s the heat shield and/or the break dust shield. Are any of these correct?
What is the solution to this?

I assume you are in Park/neutral at this time? Heatshield sounds like tin cans rattling around. The '05 VQ35DE's are known to have issues with the chain guides....usually when cold, initially revs cause a turbo like sounds.

If you haven't done an oil change recently, try draining the oil and dragging a strong magnet around in there (or inspect your drain plug if magnetic)...if you see metal filings...well, that isn't good.

No. I’m usually driving at low speeds. And it doesn’t matter if the car is hot or cold it always does it no matter the temperature

Related to engine rpm's, ie does it increase/decrease with engine speed, or just occur at specific rpms?

Just occurs at 1500ish RPM no matter the gear

So stops rattling/grinding above or below that rpm range? If so, I'd say heat shield is most likely. In particular pay close attention to the lower ends of the 'cans' installed over the precats. You can use big 6" diameter plumbing stainless gear clamps to shut them up if they are loose at one end or the other.
