2012 Murano -
Check engine light on
OBD code P0101 = MAS
Replaced mass air flow sensor, cleared codes
check engine light goes on and off without any reason and codes come up as same problem
replaced engine air filter,
check engine light on and off again and codes keep returning
No effect on vehicle performance.
Anyone have any ideas?

So I had the same issue. I'm about to order this part Air Boot. Shop told me that there were cracks in the rubber which was allowing for a negative air pressure reading. This was setting off the Air Flow Sensor code. Going to order it today and put it in soon (won't have much else to do with all of this quarantine crap going on).

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the boot and couldn’t see any cracks. Hope this works for you.Tell is all if it works.
Enjoy the quarantine, time I’m heading to the mountains to ski. The haven’t banned skiing here.... yet.

Any updates on if replacing the boot helped? I have the identical issue on my 2011 Murano.

Nissan has an issue with MAFs across the board. Most of the time a reflash of the ECM will take care of it as long as rubber intake boot is not cracked.
