So I’m a newbie to manuals for the most part. Mind you I put in a brand new clutch about 2k miles ago. I went to upshift while racing not going to lie and pulled a little to hard to the left on the shifter and at 80mph went into second gear instead of 4th. I was in the gear for a good 5 seconds before I reacted to go to neutral. I read that if the clutch doesn’t completely fall apart on spot your engine will poop out in a few days. Which my engine blew a rod or whatever now has a giant whole in the bottom of it. I’m just curious as to if I replace my engine does the clutch have to be replaced to since it’s still brand new? Mind you it’s an exedy stage 1 racing clutch.

You should be fine as long as you keep the clutch and flywheel together, they are like swan's, they mate for life. As long as the clutch isn't contaminated by oil it should be good to go.

PS sorry to hear about the engine...
