2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0 in limp mode

I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra that has gone into limp mode. I was driving (out of town) & noticed my vehicle wasn’t running properly. The vdc traction control lights came on. The car did some jerking and what not. I turned it off and on then drove about 1-2 miles before I completely lost power. I did some google & found some information on a forum, so i switched out the MAF. Tried to jump the battery but nothing, got the battery tested & it was reading 12v. We tried to jump the battery again when a friend put a jumper cable on my alternator & I was able to get power to the car but it wouldn’t turn over. So we replaced the alternator & nothing. Think it went into limp mode but unsure on what steps to take next. I really don’t have the $ to send my vehicle to the shop …any suggestions on what to do or try next?

Your battery test resolves nothing. Did it pass a LOADTEST? And it MUST be over 12 volt, like 12.3 or higher. A 12 volt battery even (12.0) is DEAD.

We put it on a battery pack and recharged it. My friend that I have working on the vehicle w me put the battery on their vehicle and was able to run it off my battery, so it’s definitely not the battery
NOT NECESSARILY SO.

Even a bad battery can start and run a car commonly for the first up to an hour after charging. Yet be deader than a doornail in the morning. That 12.3 number I gave is after installed and sitting for at least 8 hours.

The only acceptable test of a battery is a loadtest @ correct CCA, it collapses all that time sitting into one hard load on battery that if it does not pass the battery may seem fine but you WILL suffer grief trying to use it. So many do that though, they must like the misery.

I used to do that work.
