Hey, all. Need your advice. I have 130k miles on my Sentra (bought it new in 2010, it was manufactured in Mexico - you know, the car capital of the world!) "Service Engine Soon" light came on so I took it to the stealership for the light and a bunch of other issues.

They said the catalytic converter needs replacing. Is 130k miles a normal/avg time to replace AND doesn't a $1,000 quote seem like a price they would only quote to a girl?

Also, would I notice anything with the car to validate needing this work?

(I'll repost under a different title what my other woes are.) Thanks in advance!

I would get to an Autozone parts chain store or something alike & have it scanned for code(s) . Then go from there .
