I picked up a 2012 Coupe from an auction that needs a transmission. It has the 2.5 CVT and the Hollander exchange asks if it is a Federal or California emissions car. Not sure why that would matter for a transaxle and wondered if anyone here knew if it actually mattered because it would be so much easier too grab a Federal car since there are a lot more of them.

Also, I spotted a manual transmission 2.5 at the local pull a part. Has anyone swapped one of these from an auto to a manual?

CA trans calibrated differently for lower emissions by revving/shifting lower? A hundred different things it could be. Could even be different trans with less power loss to up mileage.

I've been seeing funny things on later ones like demanding California parts but NOT a California car, it's a 49 states one.

But will trans still drive if you have another coupter
One would have to know what a 'coupler' is to answer that.
