New to the forum and have a question about a car I just bought. 95K miles. Has been running well until yesterday. Two times where the car did not want to accelerate while it was in gear (Reverse and Drive). The RPM did not budge. No indication that the throttle was pressed. Both times it was from start-up of the vehicle. In one situation, it was when the vehicle was cold. In another, the vehicle was warm.
I have not been able to reproduce the situation. The vehicle has had regular oil changes. But as far as other maintenance, plugs, transmission service, etc, I don't have record.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Tranny or throttle body issues would be my guess.

Thanks. Do you have suggestions how would I be able to narrow down on the issue? I haven’t been able to recreate it. When it happened, when it was in gear, reverse or drive, the car would move in the appropriate direction, just not accelerate. If that makes sense. I checked with an OBDII scanner and no codes were thrown.

Maybe try a better scanner, one that will communicate with the TCM and see if any codes are in there. TB codes show up in the ECM. Unfortunately intermittent issues are not fun to try and diagnose. May have to wait for the problem to surface a little more frequently to diagnose.
