I have a 2015 2.5 s altima with almost 120,000 miles that may have a bad transmission.... I don't know how to describe the noise. I first noticed the noise when I went down steep hills and my rpms rose to 3 and 3500. Now I hear the same noise ever time I back out of the garage. I took a video of it and showed it to a mechanic bc ofc it didnt want to make the noise for him, he said definitely doesn't sound good. But he doesnt understand why it would make that noise in reverse. It doesnt make sense bc normally faulty transmission make noise up hill when accelerating. He also noticed that my rpms fluctuate for no reason. He said it might be a glitch might need a software update. Does anyone else have this issue? Could anyone tell me what's wrong?

In all honesty, he could post 5 videos, and his CVT will still need to be replaced with one that is not malfunctioning.

I bought the car in may.... and as far as maintenance I'm learning lol. I've been getting my oil changed, any filters that need done and make sure all my liquids are filled, with transmission oil someone told me a nissan dealer can only do it...

It kind of sounds the a guys buzzer, to shave there beards....

Yep CVT. Anytime you can describe the noise as a sort of whine you are there, broke. The CVT chainbelt whines when it slips and slipping is death on one.
