I have a 2015 Nissan Murano SL with a moonroof. We bought it used in August of 2018. We've experienced our first problem within the last few months when the moonroof started leaking during heavy rain. Since this is my first moonroof, I was unaware that they have drains for water and those drains can get clogged! Our Murano is NOT garaged since we only have a small, one car garage. My husband and I tested all four moonroof drains by running water down them and pushing compressed air into the tubes. The drain on the driver's side A pillar is clogged or disconnected and water leaks down the INSIDE of the A-Pillar during heavy rain. We've recently had heavy rain and the leaking is the worst that it's ever been. We took the vehicle to Nissan shortly after the first leak started after we ran our own tests and couldn't fix it ourselves. Nissan ran tests and diagnosed it as the drain tube in pillar A either leaking or disconnected. Nissan suggested that we take it to a body shop and to be quite honest, I haven't done that because the leaking has not been bad until today, and I'm concerned about the price outcome! However, I know avoiding the problem is a terrible idea and I will be taking the Murano to a bodyshop this week. Anyone else have moonroof leaks and/or any experience fixing them? Any suggestions?
