I have non-owners insurance. My wife used to own our car. We since sold it and bought another one, this one on my own name. So technically, if I have an at-fault accident, I won't be covered. I have to fix this problem.

BUT... if I got into an accident and it was not my fault, would my faulty insurance have been an issue? Wouldn't it have been the other insurance company's responsibility?

Because I was driving through downtown Saturday night and this idiot taxi ran a red and cut me off. I slammed on the brakes and barely avoided him. The bastard even had the nerve to flip me off when I honked after I stopped.

It would have been the perfect opportunity to upgrade cars.

Oh, one more question. If you drive a car with a salvage title, can it still be "re-totaled" and "re-salvaged"?

Yes. But you'll have to do all the work to go after the other insurance company for the dough.

If your have full coverage, your insurance provider will get you on the road right the way and chase the money later.
