Guys i need your help. I have lost two altenators in the last month. The first was the original (car has 164,000 miles), the second was a rebuilt altenator (rebuilt to 100 amps). what (besides both altenators being bad and me have bad luck) could be causing this.

I have a system hooked up. It is one 800 watt rms amp (class T) and one 1500 watt rms amp (class d). Bothe amps are hooked up and ready to go but only the 800 watt amp has any speakers connected (still waiting on box for my sub).

Thnx for any help.

I would say it was probably just a bad rebuild. A system can really drag on an alternator but it shouldn't kill one that fast. Hell I have had a lot bigger setups then that in my car and not fried an alternator.
