As above, pick a large existing bolt, sand paint clear, and install tightly. This has the advantage that there is a 'weld on' that is already part of the chassis steel and provides much better conduction than the thin annular cross-section from just drilling a hole somewhere. Seat belt anchors are good places to start. Easier to remove the rear seat in our Gen4's Altis to get at those.
I cannot guarantee it will, but it stands a much better chance of coming on and working as intended if you do.
If you have issues with the amp not powering up and you've verified it has 12V...then check for an 'Amp On' signal wire (input)...many amps wait for the headunit to tell it when to power up.
I know this is a very old thread but I just wanted people to know two good ground spots I found: 1) The 10mm bolt in the bottom part of the back seat pillar. 2) Down in the spare tire well is an alternative. My alternator whine went away completely
