Bluetooth Issue

I've got the SV and noticed the other day that my bluetooth on the radio has stopped working. When I go into the menu and click on bluetooth it just says "Please wait" and stays like that. Has anyone had this issue happen and if so is there an easy fix for it?

Mine will freeze up when ending a call.
Can't get out of the Bluetooth screen, can't turn it off or even switch to radio.
My only fix is to Stop the car and turn off the ignition (Reboot)
I then removed/deleted the device from the Bluetooth screen and Phone.
Then created a new connection on both.
This seems to work for now.
Never had this problem on my 2012 Maxima.
Plus the Maxima Bluetooth audio is a LOT BETTER
First things first, you need to see if you wireless device is listed on the approved device list .

Blackberries are the worst, BTW. I don't know why so don't ask.

We had problems with my wifes Blackberry in our new 2013 Cadillac SRX.

Thats right GM . Don't ask .

If your using a non supported device your options and support are limited.
Mine acts up on occasion when playing music. The most common issue is that it gets stuck displaying the same track info that was displayed on startup even after that song is done. Kind of annoying. The other day there was no track info displayed at all even though the music was playing, and the playback controls weren't functional. That was the worst issue I've had with BT but also the only time I've experienced it.
It's disappointing when your phone is on the "currently being tested" list for more than six months as mine has been since before I bought the car. I have the 2.5SV with Nav/Conv. I've reported multiple issues with the nav and bluetooth systems. I understand that they are not made by Nissan and they're at the mercy of the third party vendor to get issues resolved, but this is ridiculous. Nissan needs to apply pressure to these companies or discontinue business with them and find a provider who's able to produce more timely resolutions to problems.

Thanks for the input. My phone is a Blackberry but it is one of the approved devices. I think it has something to do with the head unit. I'm gonna try disconnecting the battery to see if that works.

Ahhh , A Blackberry :)

Do one thing first.
Make sure the bluetooth activity LED is set to remain on, I know the blinking gets annoying.

Next make sure you operating system us up to date.

Make sure the devices discoverability is set to on, not 2 minutes.

Try that and report back

+1 only issue I had with BT.

Disconnecting BT and reconnecting normally resolve it for me.

I checked all stated above and the head unit still just stays on the screen that says "Please Wait" when entering the bluetooth mode from the menu. My personal cell also has bluetooth and it can't connect anymore either. My blackberry has had no issues with connecting to the car since I bought it back in Oct. I hate bringing it in but I need to anyway to take care of the rumble (noise) at low rpms.
Maybe you need to format your bb. That's assuming you have already restarted your device

I had the “please wait”. Here is what I did. I started my truck, tried to open Bluetooth on console, it says “Please Wait”. I then turned off Bluetooth on my phone. Waited 10 seconds and turned the car off. I then restarted the car (phone with Bluetooth off). And the console restarted with Nissan logo and directly into Bluetooth settings. I then went in and turned back on Bluetooth on my phone. I deleted old phones in the truck (not sure that did anything) but just as a cleanup.

I think the connection from my previous call was not getting released and this seemed to work for me.

This happens to me in my Sentra. About 25-35% of vehicle starts. I am at the dealer for this issue right now. Nothing to do with the phone at all. The vehicle either sticks at “Please Wait...” or move on to display “On”. If it turns ‘On” it works and if it stays at “Please Wait...” it will never com on. Only fix is to turn the key to off and back on.

I'm having the same issues, the Nissan dealer has no answers. I've tried removing the fuse, and even disconnected the battery for at least a half hour. I tried to do this twice. Neither time did it work.
So my Head Unit lost the Blue Tooth all together. I will pull up if you push the media button but will just get locked up in the "Please Wait" message.
First I called the local dealer, they told "to reset the radio, disconnect the battery for at least a half an hour. That did not work.
Then I did the disconnect and replaced the fuse. Still no Blue Tooth.
I took it to the same dealer and the service dude said " we have to connect it to the Emmet diagnostic tool and that will cost 180 bucks.
So, I took it to another dealer and the Service guy said "Your Bluetooth is FRIED. You'll need another head unit."

Recently I called Nissan. They escalated the issue to their Bluetooth Engineers, I received a phone call today.
This is a Known Issue for Nissan Altimas the issue comes from the different venders they used during those years 2013-2016?
I may have to take it to a dealer with the Emmet tool and have to pay out the 180 bucks, but this should be an easy fix to reset the Head Unit.
The dealership said that it cost them money to run the Emmet and they would give me a break if Nissan would pay for it.
Sounds fishy to me. I will keep you in the loop when I find out.

Did you ever get it fixed? I'm experiencing the same issue with a 2012 Altima.
This problem does not seem to have anything to do with one's phone considering I'm using a phone from 2020 and have the exact same issues as those old blackberries from 2012. Rather unfortunate that the only solution to this garbage Bluetooth is turning the car on and off again. Just goes to show what happens when you cheap out on the basic necessities
I have a 2013 nissan altima and my Bluetooth just randomly disconnects. I thought it was my phone at first so I did troubleshooting on my phone like clearing the cache, data, restarting the phone, removing the connection and repairing, but none of that worked. I tried restarting my car and that didn't work. I went into Bluetooth settings on my car and clicked my phone and right away it said failed. I then clicked on my tablet on the list on my car and right away it said failed. I went home and the next day when I started my car it started to work fine for a few hours and started messing up all over again. What can I do to fix this? I need this working because I use the Bluetooth connection for work while driving
