I have a first gen. and every time i press the brake pedal to the floor my clock seems to loose power and fades on and off. Has anyone else had this problem? What could i do to fix it?

check the grounds on the taillight assemblies.... clean and tighten the connections, that should fix your problem..

See if the fuse is blown, cuz that happens some times, when a fuse is blown the car will take power from other non necessary objects to give power to tha parts that are more important.
In a way that may be true, but brake light are necessary no matter what. Like rick said it may be a fuse thats blown, of not you may have contacts and wiring that may have burned and thats why that happens. Check the wiring, and have you reied any do it yourself electrical work on the car lately, you may have had a short circuit also, that may be your problem and you have to find the source.

i had a 94 maroon alty and it had the same problem ever since i took off the foglights (i did a crappy job of covering the loose wires) , and it seemed like whenever it rained the prob would start , when it was dry it would stop sometimes... so a short circuit makes sense...i got a 94 gold alty now (previous owner removed fog lights) and it does the same with the clock, even, the radio, so it may have some open wire ends somewhere.....so i'd suggest u check the fogs just in case...
