Intel seems to be on top lately.

AMD has always been my favorite.

I intend to overclock as much as possible.

Any suggestions Mobo combo's etc...?

if you intend to overclock then you should stick with amd. If you can afford it go 64 bit amd. Checkt he usualy mobo manufacturers. SOYO, ASUS, etc.

Intel has never let me down. AMD has. The new computer I just built uses the 3GHz Intel P4. I am absolutely thrilled with the results.s

AMD runs hotter = requires better cooling = higher fan speed = more noise.

But if you invest a bit more on cooling, AMD is still better for overclocking. Stick with Intel though if the PC is not yours but you have to support it.

AMD... Cheaper, lots more power for the money (Athlon64 model) and the same reliability as intel.

The fan that comes with the retail version of the Athlon64 is whisper quiet and if you plan to overclock your head off, you're not really worried about fan noise.

And there are some very quiet fan upgrades anyway.
