You guys should know by now I rarely spell company names correctly, that's because I don't advertise. Superships, Boze, racinglane, just so you know.
Just wow....

Did these companies stick something up your ass without lubrication?

The Bully Dog GT gas is now available and shipping. I have my tracking number from ourdealsrock.com. Hopefully it comes in before I go on vacation next week.

I have thought about it but with the CVT I am not sure a dyno will tell much. I still have to talk to a few dyno places and see if any of them know any tricks to help dyno the CVT. I don't care if I only dyno 200hp as long as I can do it consistant so I can see if the triple dog makes any difference.

Mine comes in on the 27th according to fedex but I leave for 2 weeks on friday so it will be mid august before its installed.

Damn it,

I wanted to see how this thing is, I am very tempted.

People on nico already have this and have it installed. No one really has any hard evidence yet but so far its mixed reviews. You can't adjust the rev limiter if you have the CVT :( since its controlled by the TCM so even though it lets you change it in the ECU you still can't go past stock. Also like I have said before there is no WOT restriction on the Alti so you can't remove that either. The other thing it can't do is adjust the speedometer for different tire size. Overall the people who have it like it but there is no hard evidence yet.

Are you sure there is no WOT restriction?? I have the new Bully Dog GT Gas Tuner installed and I assure you that the throttle is limited to 80% under 40 MPH and does not open much past 85% at higher speeds with the pedal all the way to the floor. 2nd to 3rd to 4th hitting the 5500 RPM autoshift points on the CVT did not register more than 85% opening on the Bully Dog screen.

He has the 3.5

I'm not sure of the 2.5L but the 4th GEN 3.5L has no WOT throttle restriction.

"Hi guys,
I have the powerpup for my 07" 3.5 altima cvt and it does increase performance and gas mileage. I can increase the base idle to 1k and timing at least 2 degrees. MY base timing starts at -2 degrees according to the device so I can actually go up to +2 degrees which would be 4 total. The premium tune gives the most power. I'm not sure how much but it takes off about 3 tenths of a second on my 0-60 time. Maybe more if I did not lose so much back pressure with this still cat back. The only draw back I have with the powerpup is you can not change the REV LIMITER ON THE CVT. I have spoken with bulley dog on numberous occasions and they say the power pup tunes the ecu not the tranny. The TRIPLE DOG GT AND THE POWER PUP have the exact tuning programs/function. You just get the monitoring features with the GT so you will not get your REV LIMIT changed with either device according to bully dog. Also, their is no wide open throttle restriction on our cars according to nissan and bully dog. This feature was intended for the trucks. When we step on the pedal, throttle should already be wide open. The feature will not be inabled on the GT or Powerpup. However, you will get a little extra power. Hopes this helps."

This is from the other thread from a guy with just the Powerpup. If you have the triple dog gt then if you really have a WOT restriction it should be able to remove it. I have seen with my OBDII x-ray scanner that my throttle hits 100%. Maybe you are not pushing the pedal all the way down because even if there was a WOT restriction it would only be for low speeds not higher. The purpose of WOT restriction is to stop trucks with large amounts of torque from being able to damage the drive train by going WOT from a stop.

So I just got my triple dog GT and just plugged it into the obdII port and used the power from that without using the other power wire. There is a switch on the plug that lets you use obdII power or seperate power. Not sure the difference. I messed with some of the monitoring and saw what datalux is talking about. The throttle never reads 100% even when i had it floored for 5 secs so my guess is the guage is not reading right. I havent had a chance to update it yet since it doesnt come with the cable needed to hook it up to the computer which is kinda stupid since most people don't have a 5 pin usb to regular usb cable. One other thing I noticed on it is that it has performance test which you can do 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times.

Anyone with a 6-spd 3.5 get this yet?????? I want to ge this but iam not sure about it yet without some dynos. We need dynos!!!! If know one gets some dyno results soon I might just get it dyno the car and if iam not happy with the results yell and scream at bully dog till they take it back.

1. It's kind of odd that neither mine (2.5L) nor yours (3.5L) reads much over 80% if there is no restriction on the Altimas.

2. I have another device from OBDCOM.com that does not read much over 80% either when I log the data stream - so it's one of two things...
a. There IS a WOT restriction on our cars
b. The OBD port on our cars does not accurately pass the data to these types of readers above 80%???

I have NOT downloaded the Bully Dog tune to my vehicle yet because I get an error and they need to update their software (next week) for my ECU to accept the download. So my results are from a Stock Tune - Have you downloaded the performance tune to your car? If you did, was there an option to remove the WOT restriction during the download or anywhere on the available option screens?

Saltima02 keeps asking for dynos, which are VERY useful for bench racing, but not very useful on the street or on the track. If he/she would bother to read all the posts, Cujo did test his car, using zero-to-sixty times, which is a useful test for the street or the strip.
Cujo was concerned about the "rev limiter" in the CVT. There isn't really a "rev limiter" but the CVT is programmed to go to about 6,000 rpm, and hold there, since that's the stock point of max HP. If the BullyDog moved the peak power to a higher rpm, then that might be a slight limitation on HP, but the peak HP is most likely a function of intake design and valve timing, and won't change much with the reprogrammed ECU.

I'm with saltima on this, it would be nice to see an actual dyno run or two with a baseline compared to the car tuned, because those would actually be meaningful numbers in terms of seeing how much power is gained or not.
BUT, this device comes with a 30-day money back guarantee if I'm not mistaken. For all of you bitching about the lack of dyno runs, why don't you get off your bum, buy the device, get a couple runs on the lolers and see for yourself. You would also contribute to the knowledge of this forum. And if you don't like it, give it back to the company citing concrete facts (dyno sheets) that you are not satisfied with the gains.

The end
