CD player in 2002 Altima

I have a 2002 Altima and have a question on the stock radio in the car. It has an in-dash single cd player and my question is, when you play a cd, the display shows what track it is on however I can't figure out how to get the display to show the song time INSTEAD of the track number. Does anyone know if it is possible to toggle between track number and time counter for cd playing?

thanks in advance,
marco

i was trying to do the same thing. It shows the time when you FF or REW the CD, but not when it's playing. I'll look through the manual and play with the radio some more and let you know.

Later:cool:
Remember the altima is one damn cheap car.....so it probably wont do it, I noticed that too....

The car just lacks a lot of stuff, I owned a maxima before and you can really tell the difference

Stop it...I still own a Maxima and the Altima is not "one damn cheap car."

You really really don't like your car do you?
I noticed that my factory Bose 6 disk changer displays the track number and the time counter.

It will also pick up the radio station call letters from the air if the radio station is broadcasting them through RDS. It's pretty neat.

If you dislike your taillights immensely and think your car is "damn cheap," one might wonder why the heck you plunked down $20K or so to buy the thing in the first place. Held at gunpoint by Ghosn himself?

Might've spent your money better elsewhere...

when i rented a base impala i noticed that it had a very good stereo with a lot of bass and the radio station call letters were displayed.

and?....the stock altima stereo is awesome and has plenty of base. the only difference is the chevy's displays call letters....shit, I knew I should have gotten an impala!

if you want to knock the altima for being cheap the last place you should start is with the stock stereo, it is excellent and i've had many people comment on how good it sounds.

What? This car has so many cool features to play with. If you have the base 2.5, which is what you seem to have then you may not get some of those features but for a 17-19K car what you get is on par with cars in that price range. If you get the conv. package, the SL or SE you get a lot of cool things to play with.
jstefdog- i was just making a comment/observation. My stock stereo is a little lacking in bass and I cant hear the rear speakers from the front-but it is still good. I didn't say we should have bought impalas - are you mentally retarded or just that ignorant? you dont even know how to spell "bass" right fool.

If you look at your previous post you spelled it incorrectly also, just an observation I made.:D

That sucks for you being that you don't have the time counter. I have the SL and mine counts and everything. I like it although i'm replacing it possibly with the alpine indash TV, now that the stereo kit is out. My system sounds great right now, now imagine when my subs get more internal amp wattage added to my 2 amps right now. plus with an aftermarket player, you get the addition of preouts, so i can control strictly my subs, that is probably the only thing the Bose headunit lacks. so for right now i just use the handheld sub control that came with the amp. and i also have the Bose always on -5 bass.

do YOU even make the payments?...punk azz students, like yourself, better learn to 'preciate sh*t more! Da only thing that's cheap, is your cheap-ass hubcaps fool! :p ya better ask daddy for some dubz, cause those people down in So-Cal are gonna clown on you!

aww snap....

who's the dumbass? you spelled it wrong to begin with "FOOL". i like how you edited your post though. i was just making a comment too. did i say that you said to buy impalas-mmmm NO so...ARE YOU MENTALLY RETARDED OR JUST PLAIN IGNORANT. i just thought it was a piss poor comparison because the altima has plenty of BASS and no call letters, wow, i must be retarded. i think i was just more annoyed with the dude saying how everything is so cheap and i disagree. don't get so defensive man, it wasn't a personal attack or anything. oh and if you can't hear the rear speakers from the front why don't you adjust them, you know you can fade them to the rear.
why?

Why do people buy a car and then say its a shit pile.Research, not just see, walk in and buy. Also the fricken altima is not a bmw, acura or lexus. Its a fricken nissan altima and its pretty dam nice for under 28000.Hay i see the new 911 even has a cup holder,we got 2 sets.
So, you're cruisin' down the road and watching your CD track time tick away? How about watching the road instead. I have a 2.5S, haven't found anyway to see track time, and don't really care. My last car displayed track time, and I never used it. It's not like I'm editing a recording while I drive. This is an excellent car with a very good stock stereo. Live with it or plunk down more cash for an aftermarket unit.

I won't even bother to respond to the "cheap car" comment.

Cheers.
I am not a "punk azz student" I work for my dad and we have a good company and we make good money. My point was it is a cheap car, and everyone else knows it, and my shift boot even fell apart.....so yeah there ya go =)
