Just curious if anyone knows of any issues with the Altima, if it's below -10 outside and I start my car after it's been sitting for a while, I get a bad squealing/whinning noise come from near the firewall, was wondering if it was a pump or throw-out bearing. It goes away after about 5 mins of warming up.

bottom line, it sucks...

It's a winter thing!

TMiN,

I live in Ontario, where it usually doesn't get as cold as Edmonton, however winter is winter. Cold machinery, regardless of whether it's a car, snow blower, heating system, etc. don't seem to work too well until they're warmed up. Even things like rubber drive belts freeze and will complain until they're warm. I would say that if these noises go away and the fluids check out clean, it's just a cold weather syndrome. Regards,

PG:)
