CVT fluid and freeze protection check

Hi there, I am scheduling a CVT fluid change for my Altima. I have read that when you get the CVT fluid changed , you should also check freeze protection . What is a freeze protection check ? is that specifically for the CVT or just the engine in general?

Not sure if the dealer will know what I mean by asking for freeze protection check ..

where I read about freeze protection is from this thread -

From your user name, I am assuming you have a 2012 Altima 2.5. Unless you have a coolant leak, or have had your radiator replaced with an aftermarket radiator, OR have near 100,000 miles on your car....your antifreeze is OK. Nissan claims that the coolant in your car should be changed every 90,000 miles or 72 months.

Freeze protection is nothing more than checking the fluid (anti-freeze) in your radiator when the car is cold.

Here is the tool used to check it. http://www.walmart.com/ip/16817506?...38585912&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78652427312&veh=sem
