Just thought you guys might want to know
that Since these great cars of ours DON'T have
a dead peddle ( foot rest ) leftside of the brake,
I just put in an aftermarket one in my car yesterday,
to save the carpet ( and they look kinda cool too )
it was cheap! $25.00 an easy!!! bought it at a local
speed shop where I got my K & n filter....just thought
for those of us who have the automatics.....

I also put one on and it didn't require
any drilling. I went with a Razo billet peddle
and it just screwed in with 6 screws and it works
and feels great!! I love it. :D

4x6 in size ( perfect fit ) no drilling, 4 holes,
I just Screwed them through the thin carpeting,
took all but 5 minutes......JIM

Yes,..through the carpet,It comes with short screws, I thought it would be a pain, but it was easy, as far a stability,... It
doesn't move, it's anchored pretty well, if it come loose,
I figure out another way to secure it, (longer screws )

So it is attached by screws into the carpeting? How stable is it?

I don't mean to bust chops, I'm just having a hard time picturing this. I would like a dead peddle too :D

I had plans on installing a dead peddle.

I'm not sure how secure screws in the carpet will be.
I was going to reinforce it with E-6000 or Barge adhesive, both of which will adhere to carpet.

E-6000 can be found in most craft stores, such as Michaels. It comes in a silver tube.

Barge adhesive can be found in most shoe repair stores. It comes in a yellow & green tube.

I tried the same razo with the screws but i didn't like the feel, so out came my double sided tape, It looked a little sloppy at first, but all i need to do was trim off some of the tape. It doesn't look bad, sorry no pics

Well,....If your not gonna do a" lords of the dance"
in your car you probably have nothing to worry about,
the screws I used we 3/8 " which go through the carpet with
ease, the floor underneath is rubber inwhich the screws
could attach to as well,.......you can atleast try it out!.....
beats wearing a hole in the carpet.....

I think I will. Tomorrow morning before work I'll drop by Autozone and see if they carry anything like what you guys are talking about.

The lack of a dead peddle really gets to me.

YOU SPENT HOW MUCH!?!?!? For $25, Alex sells a full set: gas, brake, clutch, deadpedal...and for you automagic people: gas, brake, deadpedal...and that's $25 shipped.
I have them in my 93 and they're really nice; I've gotten good comments from people and they're pretty good for barefoot driving that my gf does.
