I was just reading an article on the Import Tuner Mag. of a Toyota Supra with a downpipe instalation making the biggest jump of Horses out of the other mods they were doing to it, like +42.8 HP gain and +41.5 in torque! Would it do the same for our Altimas too?

The power gains aren't that much. When you buy either the stillen header or the hotshot they also give you a new downpipe. So the power gained from the said header also includes the power gained from the downpipe.

Yes a down pipe upgrade on a turbo car will make big gains , but on an all motor car you will probably make no gains with out the Header ......

a bigger downpipe on a turbo'd car makes the huge difference that it does because backpressure means nothing to a turbo'd car. on the other hand a larger downpipe ( like a 3 inch) on a NA engine doesn't mean a thing when it gets pinched down to 2.25 inch piping again.

So, like what would happen if you re-did all the piping to like 2.5-3inches.
Sorry if its a dumb question.
with no turbo? You would lose a lot of low end torque. The car would start off a lot slower. 3" is way too big for any import n/a, at least for us. 2.5" is even pushin it.
