I heard mitsu mirage get better performance with montero ecu swap. Is it posible? Monteros are 6 cil. Could the altima get better performance from a pathfinder or a maxima ecu. Will it fit?

That's an interesting idea. I'll email JWT about the maxima and sentras...maybe it will work.

since theyre difrent engines I highly doubt it, think about it - you cant run a windows aplication under the mac operating system. but hey you might as well find out it could be a nice mod for not too much money it it would work.
i highly doubt it. i called jwt and they said a 1st gen wouldnt even work with a 2nd gen. i wanted to put the fmax turbo in and use the 1st ecu but it wont work.
i wish that would work with a 3rd Gen!!!
swap to pre-OBDII ecu?

1997 is when they switched over to OBDII right? Is this possible with a 1997 altima?

This is similar to how some honda tuners swap to pre-OBDII ecus for better power from mods. The idea is that you gain a little more from each of your mods with an OBD1 ecu, less restricted I guess.
jwt says the 97 might work. an ecu from a pre-obdII ecu will not work with a 2nd gen whatsoever. all the harnesses are completely different.

yes, i'm supposed to call back in a week to see if it possible to swap a 96 with a 97 ECU. There should only be a few things to switch around. A wire here, and an o2 sensor there. I'll keep yall updated
That would be sweet. I have a 96'!
no, no, I need a 96 so i can upgrade the ecu for nitrous and all my bolt ons. You don't want a 97 ECU. It won't help, and you can't upgrade it.
damn you! i hate obdII. its so gay. cant get my damn turbo.
if i wanted to get something that my 97s ecu wont handle, then can i switch it out with a 96?

Nobody answered my question, I know for a fact that the montero ecu fits the mirage, will the maxima or the pathfinder's will fit the altima supposing their both 1995 models?
no it won't, now shut the fuck up and talk about alty's please.

ahhahah, exactly

Mitsubishi's are totally different. The only ECU that will work in our car is the one for the Altima. How's that?

What JWT is working on for me, is to see if the 96 ECU is compatible with the 97 car. There will be a few modifications to be made i'm sure. But what, i don't know. We'll find out this wed or thur. The purpose of this is only because they can't upgrade the 97+ ECU for the Altima. But they can for the 96-. So thise who want an ECU upgrade and/or nitrous, this will be good to know. Otherwise, it won't help. Simple bolt ons will work with the ecu you're car came with.
