Ok, I decided to do my exhaust this weekend. I am not gonna go with a cat back or anything, I'm simply gonna get a Universal Muffler and Custom Piping from Either Monro, Meiniecke, or Midas.

My question is, Which does everyone prefer or is there no preference??? I was going to go with Meinecke myself.

I'm only getting piping from the Catalac Converter (or However you spell it) on. Or should I do something before that?

Any input would help.

PS Did you guys see this on ebay ????Flip Trunk On Ebay

Thanks!

I just did my custom cat-back two weeks ago. I took my car to Midas and had them do 2.5" piping and put on my Hayame muffler and they charged me $130 for the install and came out really well.

Nice, Sounds good to me.

Does it sound nice???? How much was your muffler???Do you happen to have a pic?

Has anyone put on a dual exhaust from any of these places?

I just had a cat-back system with a magnaflow muffler put on with a 4" tip and it sounds swwweeettt! It's not too loud but sounds real deep, I don't like cars that sound so high pitched ( like every damn honda that I see) I got a friend discount and they only charged me $160 for everything from a local shop.

uhhh, unless you are planning on running some kind of forced induction.... I would warn against 2.5 inch piping, instead opt for 2.25 inch piping. That is if you want a little more performance boost.... But if you do not care, then by all means shell out for the 2.5 inch piping. have fun!

It sounds pretty good, I also have the Stillen Header, and Place CAI so it's pretty loud. I have no resonator on there so I get a little bit of the can'0'bees effect.
I bought the Hayame Type 1 for $175.

i won't call you stupid... just "uninformed" lol

ok, forced induction is any way that *stuff* is forced into your engine for a boost. Mainly, Turbos, and Nitrous oxide. Both of these applications that are available for our cars are "forced induction" applications. Where as N/A means "Naturally Aspirated", meaning all motor.

I'll tell you right now, you'll notice the biggest performance gain once you have the entire exhaust flowing well. I'm only 1/2 way there.

If you're getting all that done, why don't you go ahead and pick up a universal catco hi-flow catylitic converter (i think they have them at Summit Racing and that'll complete just about everything that has to do with intake/ exhaust.

can someone suggest a nice Converter? I am not looking to spend over 120 for a converter, Since I will be spending 120 for a muffler and 160 for the installation, maybe a lil more, I didn't get a quote on installing a converter too.

Any info would help. I tried the search for this but came up short of what I'm looking for.

Thanks.

Could I just buy any converter with 2.25 piping?

Does it matter? I plan on getting somthing around 60 bucks. Will it be better than my stock one?

as far as the catylitic converter you shouldn't spend more than 80 shipped. In fact, last I checked the catco one was like 65 or 70 bux from summit racing. Also, if you can find one from whatever muffler shop you're going to for under 90 bux, just get that.

They're just hi-flo cats. I wouldn't worry too much about a piece that's just going to take a beating from the road below.

If you're not planning on getting a header, then you might want to consider replacing the stock downpipe as well.
