Anyone have FSM pictures of the entire hydrualic clutch system in our cars? I followed the line from the master cylinder down to a block that splits off, one line to the slave cylinder, and another to some metal container under the battery. I am curious to know, what does that container have to do with the clutch system?

think it's called the clutch hydraulic release cylinder... kinda looking like a movie camera? held on by two screws, and a brass nipple for bleeding.

Yes it does have a nipple for bleeding. But what is it for, and can it go bad or need replacement? Is there fluid inside and will it need bleeding?

its for bleeding the system. sometimes its hard to get all the air from the lines, so theres another bleeder to help out. older 240's sometimes were a pain in the ass to bleed, even with the vac. bleeder. theres nothing in there to go bad. just try bleeding it at the slave and see how it goes. if you still get air, then try to bleed it at the other port.
