I have a 2005 Nissan Maxima and it is being recommend to me from Firestone that I get a Fuel System Clean. They said it is recommended I get it every 50K miles and I have 106K on my car. I honestly am not sure if I have ever had this done, it doesn't sound familiar so I probably have not.

Anyway... Is this really a necessary thing? I am not really sure how it benefits the car.
They said it would be $83.98

I NEVER do them (45+ years and zero issues ever), if car is running OK what is even the need for it?

Of course, yours and do as you will................

The only fuel system clean I would bother with is cleaning your throttle body if your idle starts to hunt a bit sometimes (like after 5 years). Once a year I toss in some PEA containing injector cleaner and run premium fuels the rest of the year. Never had a fuel system issue in 15 years and 300Km of driving.
