Just got my question answered from Mobiltek about the Valve Body Upgrade for the Altima Auto Transmission. Although their website only talks about Maxima VB's, they do the same upgrade for the Altima VB!!! Just need to tell them what car you have.

Q. Do I have to send the VB core back when I receive the upgraded one, or
can I pay extra for you to just ship me an upgraded VB for my car so I
can keep the original?

A. You can pay extra, but its $500. What we normally do is ship you
one that already modified, and you swap it with your old one, send us
the old one back in good condition. (details below)

Q. Does the ECU have to be programmed at all for these upgrades to work?

A. No, the TCU will pick up the changes and adjust accordingly

Q. Do you resell the protorque torque converters and if so how much?

A. Currently, we aren't offering this for your application.
Protorque.com is your best bet.

Q. Do you have to install a high stall torque converter like the one from protorque for this VB mod to work correctly?

A. This modifcation requires no other modification. The stock will work
perfect.

Q. What is the price for the VB upgrade?

A. $450, we pay shipping to you, you pay shipping when returning your
OEM VB

Q. How long does it take to receive?

A. Depends on when you buy. Right now, we are scheduling 2 weeks out.
I have a guy from the Altima club that has 2 VB's, I might be able to
get the other from him, so we can get you one shipped out sooner.

Q. Who do you recommend to have this installed by, I don't think I could do
it myself. Should I take it to a transmission shop or just any mechanic?

A. Its not hard, review the install/removal procedure on our site, it
should take you a few hours with normal hand tools.

Instructs for the VB removal & re-installation can be found here:

Payment Info
The price of the upgrade is $450 US. We ship Post Office Priority Mail
(2-3 days) at no additional charge. We can ship overnight back to you
for $40 additional. You have a few payment options:

1) You can pay using www.paypal.com Our account is:
[email protected] ( not .com) Please ensure your real name and
shipping info is included in the comments. If you chose this method, we
will still need to get the CC form completed and faxed to us to secure
our core if it isn't returned, or returned damaged (we will not process
your card at this time)

2) If you use a Credit Card, we will need to email you a form you
will have to fax back to us. This is for our mutual protection. We
accept Visa and MasterCard. We will only charge the $450 fee, and will
keep the CC info on file incase the core isn't returned or returned
damaged.

3) If you prefer to send a Money Order (certified funds) with your
VB, please email us first for details.

Shipping Info for returning the core:

This is very, very important: Before you ship to us, please drain the VB
very well (10 minutes). There is a lot of fluid inside the VB that will
not come out immediately, but during shipment can possibly leak thru the
packaging causing the box to weaken and tear. Package well wrap in
several garbage bags to prevent leaking. Use some bubble wrap or
newspaper ensuring the VB will not shift during shipment. Do not use
Peanuts; they will deteriorate if they come in contact with tranny
fluid. This is YOUR VB you are sending, please pack with care.
Replacements from Nissan are almost $700.

We have had instances over the last few months with customers shipping
VB's to us with leaking boxes. The shipper has had to inspect, repackage
and send to us. This has delayed the VB getting to us by 10-14 days. We
recently had a customer send certified funds with his order, the
packaging was soaked, the shipper repackaged the VB, sent to us, but the
Money Order was lost. PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY, as we cannot be liable
for lost parts

I would be concerned with the Money Order getting lost!

yeah, but they are saying to not send it that way. Better to pay with a credit card. It was not there fault, it was the customer who sent it in.
