What time. I plan on leaving my place at 4:30, so I should be there around 5:30. I hope it doesn't rain. One channel says thunder showers, and another says light chance of rain.

So what cars do I look for there? I'm leaving the house in an hour or so...

Look for me in a red gtp w/ stock wheels(says abs on the side lol)
Ok, I back home. I hope that was you in the red GTP with the missing headlight for more air. I got you on tape quite a few times. You were basically in the mid 14's which was good. There were a few cars there that really dissappointed me. Like teh blue SRT4 that ran a 15 and the STi that ran a 14.2. I must admit, it wsa extremely humid out there. (100% according to the announcer) But still, 14.2 in a STi. Oh, and I don't know if you've seen the new E55 AMG that ran a 12.8. Pretty impressive, but what do you expect for $85K.

I'll host the vid of you and post it shortly. Good Job:bigok:

mph 76.90
1000 12.376
1/4 14.696
mph 97.02

Lol @ my reaction time...beat a F250...sounded like he had a supercharger...he ran [email protected]

My race weight was 3678....so the car roughly weighed 3500, with me being 180. Spare+jack and a few minor things were still in the car.
This was my first time ever at the track, and I had a blast. I'm hoping to hit high 13s with cooler weather and better 60' times. Oh yeah, and I'm ordering me some headers and a smaller pulley this week...maybe mid/low 13s then in October weather eh?
Humidity was awful..I was always moist...temperature at my last run was still whopping 86.

very nice runs. ya your 60' need to be a bit better, maybe tires are a prob for you ahhaha im sure you peel out a lot, but you had good times nontheless! that lightning you raced was way fast, i cant believe ppl compared that to an altima b4.

You people crack me up. Cooler weather will not "shave" off almost a half second and put you in the 13s, especially low 13s. Do you realize how much more HP you need to shave off a full second? 1 seconds seems little but may mean thousands of dollars in mods and mucho HP.

You are gonna need a 60' time closer to 2 seconds or less to break 13s in the Alti at full race weight and radial tires and that's very hard to do with FWD.

The Altima is a mid 14 sec car and the very few bolt on mods available may make it break a flat 14, but without forced induction or significant weight loss, the Alti will hover around the 14 sec mark.

I have yet to see better than a 13.7 slip on this site for the 3.5 and that was done with drag tires, race gas, no seats/spare, 5 speed, bolt-on mods and a hell of a driver.

A 14 sec run is very good for a FWD sedan. That's almost on par with 350Zs that run 14s all night at my local track and G35 coupes running high 14s.

well not to get into it with you vegas- but my 14.04 run was with a 2.4XX 60ft so i can definitely break into the 13's with the new tires i have.

Yes- to take off a sec Vegas is right you seriously need about 75whp so about 85+hp (est.) it is not as easy as the weather and humidity- or a few bolt ons-yes humidity can shave off a few tenths, but a few tenths meaning at most .2 AT MOST. Elevation is the biggest killer of ET's.

Yes, if you have the HP, you can get a high 13 with a +2 60'. You could roll off the line in a Z06 and still run 13s with a terrible 60', but it's the HP that gets you there, but the average high 13 sec run equates to a 2 sec 60'. Since the Altima is so close to breaking 13s, it's not so much more HP you need, but a better 60' and you will hit the 13 mark.

Instead of bolting on more power and spinning the tires off the line, you should work on the launch technique and the right tire/wheel combo. Lowering the 60' will help a lot.

It's been established that 275 FWHP in the limit before it becomes a liability, the reason 500 WHP SRTs can't break into the 11s. All has to do with traction and making the most use of your HP.

Regardless if he had street tires, his weight was a couple hundred pounds less than stock. Was he running on fumes? He was merely trying to prove a point and it proves the Altima in stock trim weight will not run below 14 seconds w/o serious HP gains and then you are battling traction off the line as in Altimized running nitrous and spinning his way through 1st and 2nd gear.

The 13.7 I was referring to was BJs, but technically it was 13.6.
Don't you find it odd that we haven't seen another mid-high 13 sec run since that run over a year and a half ago. Maybe unreported, but non that made any impact like BJs. We're talking all motor, not nitrous and or FI.

Myself and 03alt3.5 are the only people to record their times WITH HEADERS- 03alt ran a 13.79 an i ran the 14.0 with a 2.4 60 foot mind you. Not enough people with the serious bolt on on here yet.

How did this thread turn into another argument started by Ihatevegas.... for your information, there were NO Altimas running that day. Yes, we all know that your Evo is superior, before you mention it. And once again, damn it Vegas, why do you keep saying that :"It's been established that 275 FWHP in the limit before it becomes a liability, the reason 500 WHP SRTs can't break into the 11s. All has to do with traction and making the most use of your HP." Established by whom???? I know I sound biased, but there's a few FWD GTPs running 11s and a couple of guys are in the 10s, and a boatload in the 12s...yes with a stupid, slow, torque steer plagued FWD car, thats making over 275WHP and 400+ FWTQ.

Anyways...
I really feel that right now my car has high 13s in it(with a better driver ) with a 2.0-2.2 launch as I dropped a whopping 1/2 second between a 2.657 launch and a 2.339
I torque braked to about 1.5k rpms then launched... I tried torque braking to 2.5k rpm, but I dont think its safe for a modded car...my car was making grinding noises(tranny) and broke loose off the line that one time I tried it. I havent tried just launching from 0 without torque braking...maybe that will net me better times?

And Stacey... 14.04 with a 2.4x time is awesome...I'd say with even a 2.3 launch, high 13s are within reach...2.1-.2, a solid 13.8 I'd say.
