Im trying to start my car but it seems as if my Ignition is locked. I put the key in and it wont turn at all.

I thought the steering wheel was locked so i tried moving it around. But NOW its really locked into place. :embarasse

Its a 1998 Altima GLE. Help please.

Problem will likely come up again, battery had nothing to do with that. Change the lock cylinder or next time the locksmith will be doing it at 10X the cost. What most of you wait for, then cry about it.

If you pulled into a curb hard with wheels turned hard then you brought it on yourself.

It can happen for several reasons and they are like-
  • Whether the gear is set in "park" mood or not
  • Steering wheel lock
  • Dirty, damaged or broken key
  • Damaged ignition cylinder
  • Dead car battery
The best way to solve this problem is to call a locksmith. But you can try it on your own if you know the ways to remove the key.
