Hi was looking for pointers for how to replace a 2015 Altima automatic shift knob.. The leather got damage so I want to take the old one off and put a replacement on.

Anyone have pointers for how to take the auto shift knob off?

@sparty18 It's been a minute since I did it last, but I remember it being very easy to do. I think all you need to do is slide down the chrome sleeve below the knob. Then there is a small horseshoe shaped metal clip right below the knob that can be removed using needle nose pliers. Pull off that clip and the knob should come come right up. Good luck!

I think the car must be in neutral position in order to slide the chrome cover down. Please observe proper safety when performing this work.

Yeah, might want to set the parking brake, also remember to unset it when you're done. :smile
