I am disappointed with the audio information displayed on both the dash and and certain information screens. I know I can display the main audio screen which displays this information but I want to display the navigation map with the option to show audio information. The audio information option only displays the audio source and not the song at the top of the map. I should not have to flip between the map and main audio display every time I want to see the song info. All they display on the map is the audio source information (Sirius/XM), channel (60's on 6) and preset used. To me this is useless information and would much prefer to have song title and artist displayed. My previous cars, including a Nissan, had such a display. My wife's 2019 Prius displays this information along with the map.
I have searched the manuals and internet looking for an answer. When I didn't find anything I sent an email to Nissan. This is the response I got:
"We have confirmed that your 2019 Altima does not have flaw with the SXM Radio/IT system, rather this is how it was designed. Therefore, there is no other options or workaround to reconfigure where the music displays in the system that we can recommend.
As an alternative your vehicle do come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which as a preference to use maybe optimized when syncing to your phones’ audio and entertainment."
I don't want to use Apple Carplay or Android Auto. I should be able to use any source supplied with the car and have the song information displayed. Because it was not designed to provide this information they don't recognize it as a flaw. I see it as a bigger flaw, a Design Flaw. I see many forum threads for older cars specically asking how to get this information. I now have a new car with all the bells and whistles which cannot display key information about what I am listening to.
