I have seen a few posts about altys with LSD. Is there a way to tell if a particular one has it?

You can check by VIN number. Only 1993 - 1994 Nissan Altimas had LSD.

check the trans model #. Its on a plate near the drivers door hinges. Ending in "A" means no lsd, "V" means yes.
