Hey All,

I plan on driving my 2015 Altima on a 3.7k mile road trip from houston to colorado and back (through new mexico). I was wondering if there is anything I should do other than normal maintenance prior to the trip. I'm expecting a lot of mountain driving once I get in to colorado. My car currently has 22k miles on it and is working great.

If it starts engine braking on a long steep downhill run hit the right paddle shifter till you get to ratio 7, then it will coast like a normal automatic. By the way, this sounds like my upcoming trip Plano TX, Colorado, back through new mexico. Are you going to a concert at Red Rocks by chance? I won't be taking the Altima on this trip, my friend driving so it will be a 2015 Malibu for this ride.

Thanks guys!

I don't have paddle shifters so I'm not sure how I'll be able to up shift :-/.
@Storm_Blue: my trip includes passing close to the red Rock amphitheater bit I don't plan on going to a concert there as of now. Here are the two legs of my trip. I've never driven this route before so any and all suggestions are welcome!

LOL ! That looks just like my trip. One more thing, try to do the mountain roads during daylight. They are dangerous enough when you can see, very dangerous at night if you are not a local and know them well. Be safe, and have a good trip.

I too secound what storm_blue just said, you want to get your mountain road driving part of your trip done during the day time. Those drivers in Colorado they know the roads like the back of there hand and tend to go flying done the mountains. O and make sure that your spare tire is in good shape, because you never know when you might need to use it.
