I ordered tires from Tirerack.com for my new 18" wheels yesterday, today they called me and said they would not fit the 02 Altima!

They offered to send them as long as I agreed that I was "on my own" if they didn't fit.

I tried to order 245/45/18's and they said the largest to fit would be 225/45/18. Please post your tire size for all of the list to see...also mention if you have had any rubbing or fitment problems.

I really want to go with the 245's...but they are way to much money to look good sitting on the garage floor!

Thanks for the help!

You read that thread about speedometer error... If you go with 245's you will be off by a bit. Its not always about the look - think about the practicality of it as well.

*LITTLE TIP*: Our stock wheels are 215/55/17 - here's the math of it all (215*.55)*2+(17*25.4) = 668.3 - whatever tire you get you want it to be AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THIS NUMBER...

225/45/18 = (225*.45)*2+(18*25.4) = 659.7 = 8.6 under
245/45/18 = (245*.45)*2+(18*25.4) = 677.7 = 9.4 over

*PERFECT 18" TIRE SIZE would be 235/45/18s which come out to be 668.7 - now that is as close to STOCK as you can get.

I can't seem to find them anywhere - and they are bigger than the 225 - sounds like these would be more up your ally.

depends on your model

Does anyone know the offset of the steel wheels or the 3.5SE OE wheels?

245s must fit altimat has 245s on 19s, Altimat have you had any rubbing problems? How much outside clearance do you have front and rear?

the 2.5s comes with 205/65/16 - 26.6" in diameter
the 3.5 comes with 215/55/17 - 26.3"

My view is that the 245/45/18 at 26.7" would be perfect for my 2.5s, the half an inch larger tire might make 3.5 speedo more accurate.

If someone has 245/45/18 on their car please post your rim size, offset and clearance numbers.

Stock Offset...And More...

On the stock 17" wheel for the SE, the offset is +45mm.
It's on the back of the wheel.

Here's my problem...I too am thinking of going to
18's. I found a sweet set at a great price, but I'm
concerned about the width and the offset.

Here's the equation...stock: 7 inch wide with a +45mm
offset. Upgrade: 8 inch wide with a +40mm offset.
Useing an "offset calculator" it indicates that I would have
8mm less clearnace between the strut housing and the inside
rim lip and the killer is that it would stick out an extra 18mm!!!

I don't want the "G-Ride" look going on. I prefer a nice clean
tuck. What do ya'll think?

Offset Confusion...!

Hey rao, where ya been?

when I replaced my stock 17's with
some 17" ADR's. Can't trust the owners'
manual...too generic!

I have answered my own question!

I recieved the 245/45/18's today and they do fit. The rears fill the wells perfectly but the front still have a decent gap. I think the Pro Kit will fix it nicely.

The wheels are ADR Sport GT in Hyper Silver. The Rim size is
18 x 7.5 with a 42mm offset.

As mentioned earlier the tires are 245/45/18. This combo give a diameter of 26.7 inches, almost identical to the stock 16's on the 2.5. I will post better pics when I can take pictures durring the day.

ps How was the weather in AZ today? it was about 75 here in Vegas!

Re: Offset Confusion...!

I Too am thinking about getting new wheels, but keeping
stock size, maybe a little wider, I was told I could go 225/50/17 with a 42mm
ofset? will this work?? I'm looking at "ADR" reaction wheels
or konig tantrums any feedback on the size or brands
would be great
