I was just wondering if the molybdenum coating would wear off and how fast would it wear off.

Also, what about the microfinished cam/crank shafts? With all the friction happening in the engine, does it stay microfinished?

Yes, the finish will wear off over time, the main benefit is it helps to reduce internal friction on the piston skirt, which may marginally improve mileage, probably the main reason nissan did it. As for microfinishing the crank, almost all machine shops do it after grinding a crankshaft. It leaves a smoother surface to help reduce the friction a non smooth surface would create in the oil that circulates around it!
