oh lol. u can take it to the dealer or u can run ur ecu codes. have u tried resetting ur ecu? sometimes that makes the light go off!
if u have a haynes manual u can check the engine codes urself!!
what u can do is search the threads and u'l find useful info on the check engine light and codes. its really easy to reset ur ecu.

I dont want to reset it without knowing what caused it. :)

Is the dealer only place that can scan the ECU for the fault codes? Im sure they would charge a lot for it. Thats why i was wondering if there was someplace else i can go.

u can go to any shop to have the ecu checked for codes .
the dealer would prolly just reset it as well as any mechanic and charge u about 65 bucks just to check the light! is ur car acting any different? have u swithed gas or did any mods? what part of chicago are in? where in chicago actully?

im actually in the nw burbs (roselle).

Car is driving fine and is 100% stock. Havent touched the gas since i filled it up last week. (half tank now)

Guess i can try to reset it, what do i do? Just disconnect the battery?
