I just got my Hot Shot Header in and have known that I can't install it myself b/c apparently the downpipe bolts right up to the stock cat. My problem is that I don't have a cat, just a straight pipe on my 98. I went to a shop (www.srcracing.com) in my area b/c they were highly recommended and they wanted to charge me a minimum of $180 to install and weld a flange on the straight pipe to keep the header and downpipe a bolt-on for resale purposes. I thought the price was pretty steep, especially something that I planned on doing on my own till I hit a bump. What do you guys think?

get a cat and your problems are solved
I'm going to have to have it welded on anyways but I don't know at what exact point to have everything match up.
