I have a 2012 Armada that has an aftermarket manifold because of the infamous cracking exhaust manifold issue. I installed it at 2k miles or about three months ago. We took it to the Nissan dealership where we bought the vehicle because there was a complimentary oil change for purchasing a car with them. After leaving the dealership, the vehicle threw a P0420 (cat has gone bad), but I was immediately skeptical because it was a NEW cat.
I got my OBD tool and cleared the codes. About five days later, I hooked up my OBD tool to the vehicle, and it reports passing emissions.
Do you think Nissan may have a tool that forces OBD codes to show up?
