What I did was replace the two front windows of my 98 with a set of 2000/2001. The the 2000/2001s are 5mm (14.3%) thicker than 98/99s. So now when im driving 80mph down the freeway I don't get that annoying air leak. Installation was simple. I got the windows for free so if you ever in a situation that some breaks into your car, keep this in mind.

Before I replaced windows I replaced the rubber seal runner that sits in between the door and door jam. The 2000/2001 is actually thicker and longer. Its supposed to seal better but I didn't see a big difference with that.

Are both the driver and passenger side windows thicker? I thought it was just the driver's side to cut down on outside wind noise.

both driver and passenger. I had them side by side and you can tell its thicker. I also noticed they were a little bit heavier.
