The Nissan recommended motor oil is an SAE 0W-20. You can also use an SAE 5W-30 as an alternative.

I have a 2012 Altima S 2.5L and use an SAE 5W-30 oil. My favorite is Mobil-1 fully synthetic SAE 5W-30; been using it for years.

SAE 0W-20 is what the manual says to use. Higher viscosity oil can be used if you live in a hotter climate.
