I'd like to know if anybody's tried this speaker or anything similar to it. I found some for $48 shipped, new.

OT: I just bought some Pyramid Audio TW17 tweeters for $14 shipped, new.

OT2: I'm saving up to buy an Infinity Basslink subwoofer for $220 shipped, new.

OT3: Everything's running off my 3year old Kenwood cassette HU. I think it's 35x4

OT4: I might put my Aura BassShakers in until I get the subwoofer.

Can I get some comments about the Kenwood 5x7 and my whole setup in general? Thanx!

Those kenwoods will not sound good since they are only 2 ways unless you use a crossover. As for Pyramid...junk! Dont know how good the Infinity will sound.

i got some kenwood kfc-578c(not the same as the kfc-5708c). they put out some decent sound.

if it's better than stock, then I should be ok. I just need the kenwoods to play the mids. The highs should be covered by the tweeter (i really hope they play up to spec) and the lows covered by bass shakers and basslink.
I like the basslink cuz it's a 200watt class d amp...damn good for an amp. has good spl and pretty deep. On top of that, it's a compact design. For $200, I think it's a good choice. I've asked several audio placed what they can do for me for $200 and neither say they can go custom and sound better than the infinity.

Like I said the Pryamids are shit. Youd be better off with the stock tweets at least mine has stock tweets.

?? my 94 GLE had a stock Clairon system. Do you have tweets on the panel between the windshield and door? Mine does. Im still using mine and they are ok. But those Pyramids will be crap.

Hmm...I don't see anything on the A Pillar nor the mirror panel. I've don't remember any 1st gens having tweeters even the bose. but Crutchfield does say there's a 6-speaker option. Strange.
Do you know where I can get low cost tweeters?

?? Get a component set and put the tweets up top and the woofers in the doors. Thats what I'm doin. I know my GLE has 6 speakers stock...and its CLAIRION not BOSE. Sorry I just find it annoying since everyone on this site always says bose/

I didn't wanna get components cuz I can't find any in my price range. Can you suggest any low cost components that are better than stock? thanx!
