The other day, I got the oil changed, tires rotated, battery cleaned, and air filter replaced in my '08 Altima, and I am familiar with the most of the maintenance lights and indicators for my car. But just yesterday, about 300 miles after the service I had done earlier in the week, the "Maintenance Other" light came on, and I can't find anything in the manual or online that elaborates on this notification. Aside from the work I had done, the only thing I've noticed recently is a small puddle of clear fluid, which has no odor and I believe to be water, on my garage floor and a few drips where I idled in the driveway waiting for the garage door to open or close. I assume that is related to the A/C - I hadn't used the A/C in a couple weeks, but it's warm AGAIN in Central Texas...

Anyway, if anyone has any idea of what this "Maintenance Other" light is meant to indicate, I would appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Look in your Owner's Manual, "Instruments and Controls", page 2-16 thru 2-19.

This shows you how to reset that warning.
Morton, the OP is asking what the "Maintenance Other" warning means... not how to reset it.

And I agree, the manual doesn't explain what this "other" thing means. At least, I couldn't find it. I had the warning come on this week-end... but my oil change was due. So I got the oil and oil filter changed this morning... and I reset it. Nothing popped back up.

Did you ever find out what this was? My Nissan Rogue is doing the same thing now. It is leaking a clear fluid (like water) and has the "Maintenance Other" reminder on the dash. Please let me know before I bring to the dealership. Thanks,

Do you have access to a Nissan Rogue Owners Manual? If so, look on page 2-26 Instrument and Controls. If you don't have a copy, you can download one here: http://www.nirogue.com/nissan_rogue_service_manual-293.html

Clear water is from your air conditioner. Normal. Google "How automotive air conditioners work" for more information.

How could you find this thread, and presumably read the posts therein, and still you have no idea what "Maintenance Other" means?

From the Owners Manual:
Maintenance
The maintenance menu allows the user to set reminders for various vehicle maintenance items.

"The user" is you.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue "maintenance other" light show is only a reminder of anything You would need it for as far as service intervals are concerned. The producer of the cars made these "oil", "tire", "filter", and "other" reminders. This was to make it easier for customers to provide a choice for another notification with which You can set it up with whatever You want in the Driver Information Center. Based on what You set it for, You will set the distance for mileage mi/km. If You go to the settings and position the interval at zero, You can also turn it off. If the car You bought was used, someone will set the warning trigger for something and it will let You know now so that You do not forget. Until You turn it off, the light will keep illuminating.

Don't bother telling people what the light is for, they will just ask you over and over what it is for. That's the point of this thread anyway.

Geez, how do these people manage to find their mouths to avoid starvation...........we are in such a world of dumb-ss.
