oxygen sensor

Hi everyone,

I need some help from 1st gen owners. I have an Altima 1995 (that is in the specification) but it was really build in 1994 (which happens a lot here). Today my check engine light came on. I've checked the codes and ECU says 0707 which is, according to Haynes, rear oxygen sensor. Haynes also says that 95 Altimas might be equiped with one, single wire oxygen sensor or two (front and rear) sensors. Mine is definitly one wire. If it is so there should be only one sensor but in this case why ECU shows code 77 for rear sensor ? Have you got a similar problems ? Have anybody checked if 95 Altima with single wire oxygen sensor has one or two sensors ? I need to know that ASAP. I'm gonna replace sensor in the next couple of days but in this case I don't know which one :)
Thanks,
Janusz

0707 is definitely the rear o2. That's located under the car right near the cat. If you got one wire, then get one with one wire. Same if there's three. Just so you know, an o2 from Nissan, at least the 3 wire one, is $150, or near that. Good luck.

why don't you just jack you car up and see if you have the second 02? I have a 95 with two 02 sensors. I have one in the header and the other in the cat.
I've checked. If I'm not wrong the rear should be placed just after flex pipe. There is no any. Is it possible that they put new ECU and only one sensor (old configuration) so it returns incorrect code ? I've also reseted ECU and check engine light is off so far. Will see tomorrow.

did you check the cat because that is where my second 02 is.

I've checked where Haynes shows it is (on the pipe, just behind flex pipe) Is your in a different place ? First or second gen ?

I think I'll pass for now (after ECU reset check engine is off).

Thanks again
