If you paint a valve cover and don't use high temp paint, what will happen ? paint peel, or probably nothing?

It would probaly start to chip, peel off and turn nasty colors. Just stick with high temp engine paint, its just a little bit more if not the same price!

Why don't you get it powder-coated at a local shop? It'll be like $35-$45 bucks but its worth it if you don't know what to do. I bought a two-tone (Blue & Purple) powder-coated valve cover from Punksk8rr and he got it done for $50 (Looks tight as hell!).

back on topic, the paint will cook and bubble. then it would start chippin. but personally, i would get it polished.
