good afternoon. this question is for all the engine builders out there that have had all manner of the QR25DE 's apart. Nissan has been building this motor since 2000 or so. in broad strokes , will ANY QR25DE from ANY year bolt into ANY chassis that originally had one from ANY year ? for the sake of example... lets say you have a 2004 x-trail with a QR25 DE in it... and you bought a motor out of a 2013 Altima with a QR25DE in it... and then you changed out all the bolt on stuff that is unique to the car... the intake/exhaust/ alternator /motor mounts sensor array etc etc , could you then just bolt that motor into the x-trail ? I know there are a variety of internals over the years... different compression ratios and rods and such but all that aside, did the basic architecture change ? again... I use as example... remember the old 240 thru 280zx 's ? in those cars and all the L series cars... every motor would bolt up to every transmission and set of motor mounts and as long as the bolt on stuff was compatible , you were fine... this QR motor is in a lot of different cars... would they all mix and match if the peripherals were correct ?

Thinking Frontier stuff is different, the RWD engine has different mounting points as compared to the FWD ones.
