my car has 48k miles on it. nissan told me i need to get my transmission flushed and some other stuff. is that necessary? when should i get a tune up?

If you have an owner's manual, it has a complete maintenance schedule for your car.

In my 2001 manual, it says to inspect the fluid every 15,000 miles and replace if dirty for normal driving. I'd replace it every 60k if you're easy on the car and 30k if you're a maniac.

90% of my driving is done on the highway, so i change my tranny fluid every 45-55k.
