I think the primary cause of failure is not the turbo itself but the inability for the turbo to handle high EGTs due to the ceramic BB cartridge. Usually bumping up the boost results in the stock ECU (or one with a piggy back) substantially increase fuel trim or lean out which results in high EGTs. With high octane gas (especially leaded), and some careful tuning, higher boost pressures can be run without causing turbo failure, and I've seen it done - my old partner in Japan ran 1-1.25 on a regular basis with good gas. That said, yes, usually it's a bad idea to break 1 bar with the GTS unless you know what you're doing.240rb said:good gas will help, but the stock turbo on an r33 gts-t will blow after .80 bar its happened to many people running the stock turbo running just .85 bar. If you run anything above .80 you're just asking to end the life of your turbo very quickly.

On a side note, i used to buy stuff from you guys at Gruppe-S when i had my 02 WRX, you guys are by far one of the best companies i have ever dealt with. I just wish you guys carried 240 and/or skyline parts. :brow:
