Road and Track this month has a comparison test involving the new Altima SE. It went up against the Camaro Z28, Mustang GT, RSX Type S, Celica GT-S, WRX, Eclipse GT, and Mazda MP3. Yes, that is an odd group of cars.
Here are some performance figures from the test (cut and pasted from another forum):
Altima
0-60 / 6.3 sec.
1/4 mi. / 14.8 sec @ 96.5 mph
60-0 / 138 ft.
Slalom / 63.3 mph
Skidpad / 0.80g
RSX:
0-60 / 6.7 sec.
1/4 mi. / 15.2 sec @ 92.7 mph
60-0 / 146 ft.
Slalom / 66.8 mph
Skidpad / 0.82g
WRX:
0-60 / 5.7 sec.
1/4 mi. / 14.4 sec. @ 94.3 mph
60-0 / 144 ft.
Slalom / 62.3 mph
Skidpad / 0.76g
That's not too shabby, IMHO. Alty was faster than MP3, Eclipse, RSX, and Celica. It was slower than Z28, Mustang GT, and WRX.
