Aren't the two supposed to be interchangable?

I borrowed my mom's Sony digital camera to go take pics of some Zs and a Murano, but my firewire cable doesn't fit in the iLink slot.

Does anyone know where I can get some iLink cables that I can plug into my capture card?

You can get the ilink cables from almost any store that sells Sony stuff. Link to online retailers

There is 4 pin and 6 pin IEEE1394 (firewire)

The Sony brand ieee 1394 cables are like $30-$40 and I recommend getting those.
My boss bought a Vaio laptop and Sony digi-cam a year ago. For the life of me, I couldn't get the Vaio to "see" the camera. We were using a generic ilink cable (that worked with everything else)...finally we got a Sony brand ilink and it worked fine. Just letting you know in case you run into the same situation.

And yes, not all firewire have the same exact connector on the peripheral side.
We have 2 Olympus digi-cameras with 2 different connectors.
