thanks for all the suggestions but the problem is still occuring. I went to the auto store yesterday and when i came back and tried to start the car there was no power. I opened my hood and gently pushed the power(red) wire down and went to try and start it and it did. I dont want to put it in the shop for this but its becoming a pain in the ass.

what power wire. the battery cable? tighten it again.

get new battery cables my sister saturn does that all the time and then she got new cables and it quit happening

don't really need to replace it unless there are corrosion in the batt cable.

Could be an open connection in the wire, replacing the wire might just fix the problem. I think sears will check it for free though, you might go by there and just see what they say.
